Not much different than a Fox River Grove child driving a knife through the center of a frog's body as entertainment. They laugh as they watch the frog vibrate in pain and die a slow horrific death. Sick entertainment like a bully holding a smaller child down and gouging their flesh and drawing blood. At least police in Alberta did something. Too bad Fox River Grove officials do not care, and instead, go out of their way to hide these things. Shame on Fox River Grove officials! “One of the most dangerous things that can happen to a child is to kill or torture an animal and get away with it” Margaret Mead
Alberta cat found dead in microwave
CanWest News Service Published: Friday, January 04, 2008
CAMROSE, Alta. -- Camrose police have charged four teenagers after a cat was found dead in a microwave.
Police said the cat was killed on Dec. 30 after the teenagers, aged 13 to 15, broke into an empty house for the second straight night.
"It's disturbing," said Insp. Lee Foreman.
The cat was found by someone taking care of the house for the owners while they were away from Camrose, which is about 100 kilometres southeast of Edmonton.
One of the teens has appeared in court already and the rest are scheduled to appear Feb.7, said Insp. Foreman.
They have all been charged with unlawfully killing an animal, causing unnecessary pain or suffering to an animal and break, enter and theft, said Insp. Foreman.
Police ordered an autopsy, which was performed by veterinarian Dick Bibby of the Camrose Animal Clinic.
Mr. Bibby, who has 35 years of experience in the field, said he could not disclose any details about the case due to client confidentiality.
"It is a terrible thing. You can't help but feel badly for the animal and the owners," said Mr. Bibby.
Insp. Foreman said police have recovered most of the stolen property.
The teens can't be named under provisions of the Young Offenders Act.

And then the ultimate crime. Rewarding a child who has demonstrated himself as an effective killing machine. Iraq awaits young misguided children. Do you want your children to grow-up this way? Fox River Grove is full of hunters and fisherman. So many so, people think the hunter mentality is normal and desirable. It is this same disconnect that drives the hunting and killing industries to pass their legacy on to our youth. These same murderous industries love hearing stories like this;
Five Year Old Boy Kills Bear
December 10, 2007 - Dewitt
An Arkansas County boy killed a black bear Sunday weighing more than 400 pounds.
(Tre Merritt, Five-year-old Hunter) "I was up in the stand and I seen the bear. It came from the thicket and it was beside the road and I shot it."
Tre Merritt's grandfather was in the stand with him at the time. He says Tre did it all by himself.
(Mike Merritt, Tre’s Grandfather) "He came in about 40 to 50 yards, and when he got in the open. I whistled at him and he stopped and I said, ‘Shoot Tre.’"
And that’s just what Tre did--he fired his youth rifle.
(Mike Merritt) "I said, ‘Tre, you missed the bear.’ He said, ‘Paw-paw I squeezed the trigger and I didn’t close my eyes. I killed him."’
The bear turned out to be 445 pounds--twelve-times the size of Tre. Mike Merritt said tears rolled down his cheeks when he found out his grandson killed the enormous bear.
(Mike Merritt) "His 10th great-grandfather was Davy Crockett. And Davy supposedly killed him a bear when he was three. And Tre is five and really killed a bear. I really doubt if Davy killed one when he was three."
Tre’s dad says he started teaching his son to shoot when he was just 2 ½ years old. Last year, Tre killed three deer.
The family plans to get a life-sized mount of the bear, but they’re not sure right now where they’ll put it.
