The Right Water For Discus

Discus by Mario believes in daily water changes of 25% to 50% for adult discus. Breeding pairs receive at least 50% water changes each day. Once a week water is changed 100% for all of the discus in the hatchery. Young babies receive 100% water change each day. Our pH is kept between 6.5 to 7.5 and hardness between 100-120 microsemens. Breeding pairs are kept in reverse osmosis water, or R.O. water. This is water that has passed through a membrane under pressure, removing up to 98% of bacteria, viruses, mineral salts, and heavy metals. This process transcends the tap water to distilled water. We recommend keeping the temperature at 83 degree for adults and 86 degrees for babies.
